Journey of a Soul

Sitting on the beach in Malibu on Sunday afternoon; practicing my guitar, I'm getting ready to be playing live again.....I was joined by a whole array of different folk: a actress from Mumbai India, a Russian family, and a old Californian hippie. Everyone seemed happy to hear this British blonde, strumming her guitar and singing along to the rythms of the waves. Fun to be out of the studio...I am readjusting to life back on planet earth...afer the mission....8 months inside my head !!! Myself and our new intern have been out filming clips for my new YouTube series I am working on. Last week we went down to the bottom of Laurel Canyon and I sat outside the old house of Jim Morrison and sang. People came out to talk to us and I nearly caused a little traffic jam, sitting there in my leather jacket and lace mini dress...So it's fun to be out and about...singing and filming. Wonder guitarist Yogi and I will start rehersing my acoustic show this week. We will be going acoustic, with all the new material for a few performances, before we begin rocking with a full band...and this is a real up-beat rocking record...so its going to be just fabulous to play LIVE. Yogi just came off the road from performing lead guitar with Chris Cornel and Fuel. He is currently my band Musical director, and we are both really excited to perform all the new material because the album just sounds so damn good...So once more into the brink my friend !!!
It's all go right now, every day really I'm just trying to stay centred and have a bit of a sense of humour...
Had a great Italian dinner party last night at my house - Thanks to my friend Valentina Steadler and her guy, Francesco Quinn...always happy in the company of Italian people...the food, the music, and the company were excellent.
Every day we are getting closer to our goal of releasing my new record and everything that goes into that...and - believe me - it's a lot of work...from rehersals, to printing albums...to hiring a team to carry out the release...to filming interviews...to photo shoots, to chatting up dj's on my morning walk, to talking to video directors in Paris...we are getting ready....hopefully it will all come together in time...hope you are all well
